These terms are the agreement between you and Alterora OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. We operate the service at tutor.gr. Where these terms say "we" or "us" they mean the company; where they say "the service" they mean the website and everything you can do with it.
By creating an account, or by using the service, you accept these terms. If you are accepting them for a tutoring school, you are confirming that you are allowed to enter into an agreement on that school's behalf.
1. What the service is
The service is school management software for tutoring centres. It keeps records of students, classes, timetables, attendance, grades, payments and communications, and gives each school's staff, students and parents a way to see the parts that concern them.
We provide the software. We do not teach, we do not employ your staff, we do not set your fees and we are not a party to the arrangement between a school and its families.
2. Accounts
One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has it.
A school's account is controlled by its owner. The owner decides who else gets access and at what level, and can remove that access at any time. If you have been given an account by a school, that school controls it — not us.
You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account in your own right. A school may create accounts for younger students, and in doing so confirms that it has whatever parental consent the law where it operates requires.
3. Your data stays yours
Everything a school puts into the service — its students, its records, its documents — belongs to the school. We do not claim any ownership of it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything or to advertise to anyone.
We hold it so that we can run the service for you, and we process it as described in the Privacy Policy. In the language of data protection law, the school is the controller of its students' data and we are its processor.
You can export your data at any time while the account is open. If you close the account, ask us before you do — see section 9.
4. What you agree not to do
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to upload.
- Use the service to send unsolicited bulk email.
- Try to reach data belonging to another school, or to a person whose records you have not been given access to.
- Probe, scan or attack the service, or work around the limits of your plan. If you are a security researcher, please write to abuse@tutor.gr rather than to the world.
- Resell or rebrand the service as your own without a written agreement with us.
5. Plans, pricing and payment
The service has a free plan and a paid one. The free plan is free indefinitely within its limits; the paid plan is charged monthly at a base fee plus an amount per student, at the rates shown on the pricing page at the time.
Payments are handled by Verifone (2Checkout), who act as the merchant of record. That means the sale is legally theirs, they issue the invoice, and their terms apply to the transaction itself. We never see or store your card number.
If we change the price we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, in enough time for you to decide whether to carry on. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
If an invoice goes unpaid we will chase it before we do anything else. If it stays unpaid we may move the account to the free plan or suspend it — but we will not delete your data because of an unpaid invoice, and you will always be able to export it.
6. Availability
We work to keep the service running and we monitor it continuously, but we do not promise that it will never be unavailable. Maintenance happens, and so do failures at the companies we depend on. Where we can plan an interruption, we will give notice and choose a time outside Greek school hours.
7. Support
How to reach us and what to expect is set out in the Support Policy.
8. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for data you have lost where you had the means to export it and did not.
Where we are liable, our total liability in any twelve month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — and if you are a consumer rather than a business, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
9. Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like. A paid plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed after that; we do not refund part of a month.
Export first. When a school closes its account we delete its data within 30 days, and after that we cannot get it back for you. Take your export before you close.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms in a serious or repeated way. Save for cases where the law requires us to act immediately, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a reasonable chance to fix it first.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top of this page is always the date of the version you are reading.
11. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of Estonia, and disputes go to the courts of Estonia. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still stand.
